Naperville Pom & Cheer is a not for profit organization that is only as successful as its volunteers. There are many ways you can help make our organization a success. This year, we are starting a new volunteer policy. A separate check in the amount of $20.00 will be required with your registration materials. If you volunteer for camp, uniform fittings or pick up, picture day, parade, spirit wear, coaching or assisting, you will receive your $20.00 back during the season. Any other volunteer opportunities must be approved by the NPC Board to receive your $20.00 credit.
Take a look at the descriptions below and don't be shy! We are asking each family make a donation of their time to assist with our organization. Remember every little bit counts!
Coaches & Assistant Coaches: All of our coaches and assistants are parents just like you! No experience is necessary, we have DVD's to assist you with learning the cheers. There is also a training session in the summer to prepare you for the season! It is a very rewarding experience.
We do require that all of our coaches and assistants attend a seminar called, Protecting God's Children. https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/training_schedule_3.cfm?organization_id=17156 If you have previously taken this course, you do not need to take it again. Just send in a copy of your certificate so that we know when and where you attended the seminar. If you have not taken this class, it must be completed by August 1, 2010. Please do no wait until the last minute to take it as classes tend to fill up. If you coached for us in previous years and do not remember if you sent in your certificate and/or background check, please email volunteer@napervillepomcheer.org . At the seminar, all coaches and assistants will be required to have a background check. The seminar is educational for you not only as a volunteer but a parent too! We also require that two unrelated adults attend each practice. This can be a coach and assistant or a volunteer and a parent.
Coaches Meetings will be July 27 and August 24. The meetings will be held at the 95th St. Library in Naperville from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. It is mandatory to attend one of these meetings. You will receive your volunteer fee check back for your attendance.
Are you a middle school or high school student looking to volunteer? We welcome you to join us as junior coaches or assistants. If you are interested, please contact uniforms@napervillepomcheer.org. You can enjoy teaching the girls and earn service hours! In the past, many of our young volunteers have told us how much they enjoyed this experience.
Uniform Distribution: If you would like to assist with uniform fittings, please email uniforms@napervillepomcheer.org. We supply the tapemeasures and the instruction for taking measurements. No experience necessary!
Spirit Wear: We need help selling spirit wear at the uniform fittings and at camp. Email spiritwear@napervillepomcheer.org if you can help.
Camp: During camp, we have 500 girls coming and going. The more help we get, the happier and safer everyone feels. Email fbcheerinfo@napervillepomcheer.org if you can help.
Parade: It's been a tradition to have a group of girls march in the Naperville Labor Day Parade. If you would like to help, email fbcheerinfo@napervillepomcheer.org
Team Pictures: We move over 40 teams through team and individual pictures in 2 days. The more help we have, the smoother the process. Email fbcheerinfo@napervillepomcheer.org if you can help.
